How to beat micro stakes PLO

In my last blog I wrote about my auto-play problem. Since then I've been setting goals every time I play, i.e. to play two tables for 2 hours without exposing myself to any distractions, and slowly training myself in having more discipline. This seems to work, because I'm owning my stakes lately.

Yesterday was a good day

Well I think the title says it all. Yesterday was a pretty good day. I started out playing 100PLO and afer a period playing straight forward getting the feel of the table and players I noticed how people at the table all played hit or mis in 3bet pots, so I started 3-betting a wide range of hands in late position, so I could take the pot on the flop and turn.

When I was done with playing PLO I sat at a 10NL6max table because I suck at NLH and I want to get better at it. The table vpip was about 30%, so that's fairly tight for a 6max NLH table at those stakes. Most tables are >40%vpip. I absolute ran the table over, and it felt goooooooood. When I stood up from the table I made about 8 buyinns in about 2 hours. I played everything from a "cocktailvoucher and a post-it" in late position. I squeezed the shit out of them, and there was no balance in my play at all. I think I made 80-20 bluff/vallue plays and it worked out fine. I think I showed up with a actual hands 2 times. The thing that really suprised me was that people never ever have a made hand when they raise your C-bet with an A or K on the flop. I think

today I feel good because I was focussed yesterday!

Tonight I'm playing some more 100PLO and maybe some 10NL.

See you at the tables.

brite vs brite

I guess this is my first blog entry ever. Just to introduce myself a short story about me.

I'm 29 years old and live the south of the netherlands. I started playing poker about 11 years ago when the movie rounders just hit the big screen. I started playing no limit hold'em live and no limit omaha in live games with my friends. At the time I was living in amsterdam and got some good omaha games at the student house I was living in. In the school library I plugged my laptop into the network to play online at paradise poker. back then the games with sweet and the money was easy.

Shortly after starting playing online I had my first trip to the local casino. And kept playing there about once every 2 weeks up to this day. At the moment I'm playing PLO exclusivly, because I found that I'm just out classed in the mid stakes NLH games. I stopped playing online about 5 years ago, but last year I picked it up again.

I've found out that I tilt very easily online. With is a result of zombie-play and online distractions. I was losing about 3k last year and about 1k this year. So I decided to set aside my pride and aknowlage that I need some help from the more experianced online hero's.

So if there's anybody out there that wants to help solve this problem through training, please PM me. The person that helps me with this problem, can expect a $100 buck deposite into his FTP account.

Kindest regards,

brite
