The time is now 6:00 am and I just got back to my room after a 7 hours cash game session at the casino at the Le Meridien , Split, Croatia where Goalwin.com are arranging the Croatian Poker Series. I will make this short and give you more details soon.

I started out at a €2.5/€2.5 cash game and played two rounds before I could get a seat at the biggest No Limit hold’em game running tonight with blinds of €2.5/€5 with option to straddle. I played 2 hours before I took down a pot so I wasn’t exactly on fire... The buy-in at the table was min. €200 and max €1000. I sat down with €500 but soon topped-up to €1000 (4 times in total) when I realized it was allowed. I was down to €350 at some point with a total of €1500 on the table so I was facing a bigger loss than expected against these fresh players from Croatia and Italy. The game was not aggressive but people called you down so all missed draws were costly and players hit some strange magic 2 pairs on the river...

After 2 hours I won my first pot and I slowly got comfortable at the table. Things started to go my way and I was realizing I was not the only fish at the table hehe. I played OK and the game was quite soft so I decided to grind my way back. I hardly ever get a chance to play in a game like that or even play poker in general so I figured it was +EV to hang around.

The time is now 06:12 am and I am sitting with €3000 in chips in my pocket while writing this blog so my genius mathematical mastermind tells me that I won €1500 tonight which I am happy with. I am not exactly running around screaming and banging on doors but I think I speak for all poker players when I say the best feeling is when you have been down quite a lot and turn it into becoming the biggest winner at the table.

I am off to bed but will keep you posted on the Main Event and any other tournaments I will take part of ;)
