I know I promised to write a day-to-day journal from here, but I've been really ill for this whole trip and staring at a computer screen made my head ache immensely. Therefore I'm now going have to sum up my days here so far in one post and start writing the day-to-day thing from this day on.
Tuesday the 22th: Arrived here at 7PM. Got stuck at the airport security as they couldn't find my ESTA number in their system. After an hour of investigation I finally got out. I then went to my hotel, where they couldn't find my reservation. I asked if we could do a new reservation instead, and they said "yeah sure but you won't be getting it for the internet prizes". They were trying to charge me over twice the money I had booked my room for, so I went to the nearest starbucks and booked another room. Surprisingly they again couldn't find this new reservation. At this point I was so tired from 30 hours of traveling that I told them to go fuck themselves and went to another hotel. I ended up booking a junior suite in the Planet Hollywood Westgate Towers for about $90/night (see pictures). When I finally got to my room 4 hours after landing in Vegas I just went to sleep.
Wednesday the 23rd: Played the 1,5k WSOP. Ran lollabad, lost all the flips except one, finally got knocked out AA vs 76o on 776 after 5 hours of play.
Thursday the 24th: Played a $250 tournament at the Golden Nugget. Ran lollabad, lost 6 huge pots during the first level: flush over flush THREE TIMES, set over set, set vs straight, straight vs turned gutshot to a bigger straight. Busted after about 50 minutes. Went straight to Binions to play a $200 tournament. Pulled a really really bad 3 street bluff and got knocked out after an hour. Went to an outlet to buy 15 pairs of Calvin Klein socks for $50 as I forgot to pack any, and pretty much just went to bed early.
Friday the 25th: Played another 1,5k WSOP. First hand: I open, no one calls. Second hand: I open, no one calls. Third hand: Young guy raises UTG, Adam "Roothlus" Levy 3bets, I 4bet with AA, he calls leaving 1,5x pot behind. We get it in on a K84 flop, before I put my chips in I say "I've got a really bad feeling about this, I think you have a set of kings". He turns over a set of kings and I don't hit. I'm out after about 3 minutes. When I stand up I look at my cell phone and notice an sms from a friend who suggests a 10% swap for the tournament. I would have taken this had I not been knocked out. Friend goes on to win $6,8k. I go straight to Venetian to play a $340 deepstack event. I late reg about an hour late and get knocked out on the second level after pulling another bad 3 street bluff. I notice I'm starting to feel sick and by the time I get to the hotel I feel so weak I pretty much just collapse to my bed and sleep for 15 hours.
Saturday: I wake up incredibly sick and have some fever. I just sleep all day.
Sunday: Still pretty sick, but I still go on to play the $1k WSOP. I run lollabad, every time I have top pair someone has two pair and I slowly lose all my chips. I have to fold JJ twice preflop about 20 BB's deep and my opponent shows me AA both times. I fold 43 on a 743 board and my opponent shows me 65. I'm generally on fire but it's just impossible to win a fucking pot at the WSOP. I finally get knocked out QQ<AA after 6 hours of play.
I'm off to play a $340 at the Venetian as I have nothing else to do today. Tomorrow I'm changing hotels and moving to Wynn where I'm staying for the remainder of the trip.
