I played the Venetian Deepstack $340 today. I lasted for 5 levels, I still have yet to see level 6 after seven tournaments. And I also have yet to win a pre-flop all-in... it's pretty crazy actually, I've been here for over a week playing poker non-stop and I haven't won a single pf all-in yet? So no wonder I'm down 5k with no cashes so far. Today's tournament was the same old story. Started with 12k, built it steadily to 30k. Then I lost three "flips" for 10k each and went busto: QQ vs KJ, QQ vs JJ, QQ vs AK. As I said, I run lollabad here.

A couple of interesting hands occurred during the tournament, too:

1) In which I flop the relative nuts and the worst turn card in the deck arrives.

Villain a 30-year-old dude with a stack that's 2,5x average at the moment, only 1,5 hours into the tournament. He was transfered into our table an orbit ago. Since then he's played 4 hands, always calling someone's pf raise, calling a cbet EVERY time and never making it to the river. The only exception was against me when I opened T8s UTG+2 and he called on the BB. Flop 842; I bet 2/3 pot he called, turn J c-c-, river J I bet 2/3 pot, he called and mucked.

He's been losing about 5k of his stack since he sat down and seems kind of tilted. All in all he seems like he wants to play a lot of hands but doesn't want to 3bet pre. No clue about his post flop tendencies apart from the above, but I've got a feeling he's a bad live pro who's generally suspicious of everything and might try fancy bluffs at people. He seems a bit cocky. I look like a young internet kid wearing a badass hoodie.

Stacks: Villain 30k, me 11,5k, 100/200.

I raise UTG to 550 with AQ, Villain calls on the button, everyone else folds.

Flop Q 6 4 (1400)
I bet 1000, he calls quickly.

Turn K (3400)
I check, he bets 2500. I have almost exactly 10k behind. Plan?

2) In which villain reps ridiculously thin and I have ace high.

Villain is a 20-year-old asian internet player guy. He seems smart and we've been talking about our WSOP schedules and the amount of fish there. He's been directly to my right all day and I've been 3betting his opens quite a bit. We haven't been to any big hands yet, he's mainly just folded. I don't think we've played any post flop hands together but he must've noticed I am very aggressive post flop in general. If I were in his pants I'd be looking for a situation to catch myself bluffing.

Stacks ~18k both, 100/200/25.

He raises in the CO to 500, I call on the button with AJ, blinds fold.

Flop 4 6 9 (1475)
He bets 1025, I call.

Turn 9 (3525)
He bets 2425, I call.

River 8 (8375)
He bets 5725, I????

The blinds are very weaktight which would warrant him to open light, but at the same time he must be worried about me being on the button and realising all this and 3betting him light. Therefore I don't think he's *that* light after all. I don't know if he's good at reading hands or thinking about ranges. He just seemed competent in general, always entered pots by raising and used consistent bet sizes.

I don't know what hell this line represents, I would expect him to check pretty much his entire value range on the turn and I just can't understand what he can possible go for 3 streets of value with and what can he expect to be up against? Anyone wanna call this?

After the tournament I went to the Rio to register for the $2,5k hold'em on friday, got stuck talking to some 2+2 friends and finally came to my hotel room at 10PM. Since I'm still a bit sick I'm just going to call it a night. Tomorrow it's time to head to the Wynn and play a $550 deepstack event at the Venetian. Perhaps I'll actually win a coinflip this time...
