I give up

So everything was good and the sun was shining just 8 hours ago. I was talking to Ilari "Finlands worst chinese poker plyer" Sahamies on facebook about how I'm up 20-something thousand even tho my EV of is -13k this day. Well what went wrong? one word, buhar30!!! This fish first donked off a stack at ringgame, then came to challenge me at 25/50 HU table I was sitting at. He was 3betting over 40% of big blinds and I just figured this would be some easy cash, how wrong was I...

During the match I changed my opinion about him many many times, from fish to good player to at some point being 90% sure he was a cheater til the end when it became 100% certain he was just a big maniacfish. Well I need to show a few hands at first to not look like a complete donk in rest of the hands I show. He just made some sick retarded bluffs.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5262334 reasonably early in the match, this was one of the hands where i just couldnt decide between ingeniouty and madness. When you actually start thinking more about it it's not such a bad play by him on the turn, I could be bet/folding flushes, I'm rarely full with his blockers, I could be bet/calling a hand like AKQ6 etc..

some more bluffs:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5262337

they were just more and more sick or retarded even, but anyways, the beats started coming aswell...

I was playing better than anyone could've:

but the beats just kept coming in the sickest ways:

Short update

Hey, it seems like my luck is finally turning around, well not turning around but running even instead of running bad, which means making money. I've also probably been more on the good side of coolers now. Lately I've been losing a lot because of (bad?) river calls in decent sized pots. I'm not sure if people just aren't bluffing as much as I expect or if it's just variance, gonna have to cut those down a bit. Sickest thing is I've now been beating the games for 15bb/100 (EV) over 70k hands. I'm very happy with the amount of hands I've put it this year so far, altho the biggest reason for it has been to get over this bad run.

Tomorrow I'm leaving for Unibet Open Budapest, lets hope the Jeans-run surprises me and i take the whole thing down!

some big hands:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5234993 sickes thing I'm an underdog on the turn..

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5234999

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5235000 such a pretty hand, only sucks when getting 4bet by aces which kinda turns this hand to the same value as 2233ds

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5235008 ups

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5235009 really tough call, but this villain is just crazy and capable of big weird moves

Beating

I'm starting to lose my faith in the pokergods, just busted out of the FTOPS main event, had a really good stack and this pot would've made me chipleader with around 600 players left.. http://www.pokerhand.org/?5208615

Here is my current graph. I never really realised you could run this bad for this long, in big blinds it's now about 4800. It's funny it would've been just as likely for me to have this run as a positive one and be up over 200k this year already.. Anyways gonna quit the whining and I guess just try to grind it out, should eventually turn around. EPT Copenhagen didn't go so well, I busted out at the last level of day 2 with 99 against AK all-in pf, happens, but atleast I managed to run a big bluff on huuhaa so one of my life goals is finished. Next I'm going to Unibet Open Budapest which will be in couple of weeks, looking forward to the trip and hoping to have a good time!

GL at the tables, run good!

lol donkaments

So the cash game run hasnt gotten much better since my last post. I'm now about 95k under expected EV, but about even for the year. Something positive happened tho, I managed to win a tournament, the partypoker highroller, been too long since the last one. The cash obviously helps but it really gives confidence when sunday after sunday you just keep throwing in the few k into tourneys and rarely cash.

I've really got my grinding mode on, been bumhunting the HU tables and playing alot in good games, I'm very confident this bad streak will turn around. Tomorrow I¨m off to Copenhagen for the EPT, there is also the scandinavian poker awards, I'm nominated for rookie of the year, lets hope i get lucky!

Btw I uploaded a little older plo video which I made but didnt followup, check it out in the videos section. Gl at the tables!

add insult to injury..

As I wrote in my last blog live play hasnt gone so good lately. Well online isn't much better. My graph so far this year:

It's just been one of my most horrible runs on my career. I just have the mindset atm that everytime the money goes in before the river I'll loose the pot. Been running 73k or 3100 big blinds under EV, which is quite alot conisdering most of the hands are 10/20 or lower. Had a small session at 50/100 where i lost the biggest pot so far this year: http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149776

Still feel like I've been playing very well, and handling the beats good. Some ownage hands:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149779

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149783

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149820 knowing ur opponent.. :) against some I'd always be up against quads when sticking in 200bb into a 2bb pot on the flop.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149828 this was a pretty interesting hand overall, cause of the stacksizes flat is prolly best pf. The turn call is pretty close. I timebanked a long time on the river and was really close folding, sick bluff by domce knowing i only have to call 500 more.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149832 countering a wide 3bettor...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149837

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149839 successful hero calls

Cant win all of them... :

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5149813  Really dissappointed with myself not folding the river. I was pretty sure he wasnt bluffing, but then just started thinking about perhaps he'd be valuebetting 89 himself etc etc and talked myself into a call...

Poker is rough at the moment...

I can't figure out where I've lost my jeans-run... I'm in a real downswing now, EPT Deauville didn't work out, I also played the 2k side event and the 20k euro highroller event and didnt cash in either. I got owned really bad by Lellouche in one hand in the highroller. He opened UTG, everyone folded to me in the small blind and I looked down at a pair of jacks. We were over around 50bb deep I think, and I had a pretty solid image, so didnt really wanna 3bet, I decided to just call. The big blind folded and the flop came down T55r. I check/called, turn came 7, I checked. He asked me how much I had left and then bet like 4/5 the pot so that I would have a little bit less than a pot-sized bet left on the river, and it didnt feel nice, my hand is sort of face up, but I decide to call. River is a 5, so the board is T5575 giving me a fullhouse. I check and he thinks for a few seconds and then throws a 20k chip putting me all-in. I thought about this for some time, but not many bluff in this spot as people dont tend to like folding fullhouses, also I have TT and 77 in my range I'd play this way. My hand is also practically a bluffcatcher as I dont think he will valueshove a Tx. I fold and he flashes K2s...

All the bad run might have affected my confidence, and I need to work harder to keep my game good. Also a few books I ordered just arrived, sklanskys 7 card stud for advanced players, razz and highlow books. I'm gonna try to put some time in learning a little mixed games, as the PLO havent gone so well either lately.

Anyways hope it's going better for you all, gl at the tables.

PCA and Helsinki Freezeout

So I played the PCA at Bahamas as planned. The weather could've been better, very cloudy and not that warm. Atleast the sun was out a few days, but the best day was prolly when i was stuck inside in the tournament. I managed to get 129th place and cashed for 20k$ so basically got my trip expenses paid for after taxes. Not really sure how I feel about my bustout hand, I pushed 25bb over an open from what I perceived as a loose player, unfortunately someone behind me woke up with kings... but it was a great trip overall!

I made it back just in time for the helsinki freezeout main event. I managed to bust out at last level of day1 and then played some 60/60€ PLO cash. Lost like 3k that evening but 10k as well to Huuhaa in flips :/. Yesterday I went back to play 60/60€ and managed to lose another 23k. Just such a horrible run. Lost a 12k pot all-in on the turn with top set against a wrap. 18k pot 3way AI pf with my KKQ5ds vs 9932ss vs aces. 5k when I called with JT97ds to a 4way pot and had to fold the KK2 flop with 2k behind... 15k pot with possible implied cash when I bet close to pot into 7 players with the nut flush on 984sss board, the turn was a blank and I potted and got called again, river paired the 8 and had to check/fold to the river 11k all-in bet.

Done for the year.

At the start of the year I set myself a goal to make 500k$ online this year, yesterday I had an amazing +50k euro day playing only 10/20 and lower, to put me over 500k for the year. I lost like 10k today but decided it was my last day playing this year, I'm gonna try to keep a break for the rest of the month, I think it will do good for my game, as so far this year my longest break has been somewhere around 2 days. The final number after rakeback is 521400$ but is not exact because not 100% of the hands were recorded to holdem manager, and it registers euros as dollars aswell, so it's def more. After checking that out it's about +174k in euros and 352k in dollars.

The biggest won pot ended up being almost exactly 50k$: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4961757

Biggest lost pot surprisingly in 50/100, 48,6k$: http://www.pokerhand.org/?4961759

I'm pretty happy with the volume I got in, 260k hands, unfortunately my 100/200 shots didn't work out, otherwise could've won a ton more. Had some hands at lower limits but edited out limits where I only had a few hands at.

I played the Unibet Open Warsaw like a week ago, the buyin of 1500e was a little bit small for me, I busted out after 4 hours, getting the money in on the turn against a 8 outer which hit, but it really didnt matter that much the trip was so nice otherwise with lots of good people. Looking forward to playing the rest of them next year.

Gonna try to enjoy the spare time and looking forward for the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure in January, can't wait to get to somewhere warm! GL at the tables!

Downswing online

Been losing steadily last few days online. This one day I was really dissappointed with my play, I won a ton at first HU but just bluffed alot of it away, when I knew he was gonna call. I'm not so confident about my HU game atm, it has just turned into that I have to win every pot, and keep putting too much money in the pot as bluffs. I really need to start tightening up and becoming more solid. I've been putting people on the right hands when I try to bluff them, but the problem is they just dont want to fold those :). Some of the bluffs:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?4929718 Couldnt really believe it when he called river. Perhaps I should've just potted it but i figured he might think i could be VBetting a straight aswell. But most importantly on that river, I cant have a whiffed wrap anymore, so when I bet he only beats a missed FD that a chose to take this line with...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?4929733 Very dissappointed with myself after this hand. I mean i like the bluff in a vacuum, but my opponent was down alot and really tilted, so he didn't really feel like folding...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?4929736 Should've given up and def NOT fire the river...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?4929743 lul

luckily finlands most handsome poker player Juha Helppi called me a few days ago about coming to play live poker to helsinki casino. Played 40-40 PLO and I managed to win 36k euro that evening which really helps after all the bad run online. Sickest pot was when we got it all-in 4ways in an over 20k pot, I had AAT3ds, I think the board ran out something like 3c6c7c8xKx, and my aces held up as a winner :)
