I'll be writing about the games online, I'll try to pick up and post the most interesting hands and write some comments on them. I'll tell about the live tournaments I participate in (there is not much to tell when my average tournament lasts about 45 minutes). Besides that, I'll write about everything else going on in my life that might be worth mentioning. And oh yeah, I promised to do at least a couple of short videos, too (most likely from the games at FTP).
I didn't catch the best possible start to this year since I lost about 2 mill during the first six weeks at fulltilt. Somehow I managed to get myself out of that hole a couple of weeks ago and since then my results have been going up and down like crazy. A million dollars sure ain't what it used bae, I think all the players at 500/1000 will agree. Swings are huge, especially in PLO where nobody ever folds and the gambling is on constantly. But the thing is, there are almost no games between 25/50 and 500/1000. Well, at least the good thing is the 500/1000 games are running very often at the moment. It was a really positive thing they raised the minimum buy-in to 35k, the small stacksare not controlling the games that much anymore.
Two days ago I was up for the year, but now, after yesterday i'm again on the downside. I lost over 700k last night and I have to say I wasn't happy with my game at all. I knew I shoulda quit when I felt so uncomfortable playing, but instead I decided to donate some more money to Ziigmund and Ivey. Well, we all have our bad days. I haven't played at all today, but if there is something going on later today, I think I gotta try to cover at least some of yesterdays losses.
A lot of people been asking me why I don't take dyrrrrrrr's challenge. I never said I'm not gonna, I'm thinking about taking it! It just looks like 50,000 hands are taking forever between Tom and Patrik, and if there is Ivey and possibly others in line before me, looks like my turn is not gonna be anytime soon. So, have to see what happens!
The next live tournaments I'm gonna play are the San Remo and Monte Carlo EPT's. Actually there are 4 playable events in MC: 10K NL, 25K NL, 5K NL and 5K PLO. I'm gonna play the two biggest ones at least. Let's see if I'm still practically added money in the prize pool. I'm used to the fast games online, so I don't have the patience for the tournaments. Also the buy-ins are quite small compared to the cash games I play, so I really don't even care that much. And okay, lets face it, I'm a bad tournament player, never really gotten into the structures and the full table stuff. I just go there, play every hand and boom, busted during the first level. Love it! I like to go to those things even tho I never succeed in them, it's a great chance to see a lot of friends and meet new people. And the parties around the tournaments are usually pretty awesome! And hey, maybe I'll win one of those things some day (yeah right!).
Anyways... I'll try to update this blog as much as possible, and answer all your questions. I think we are gonna have a great time here at Coinflip with Ilari!
Good luck at the tables!
