The main event didn't go as planned. I had a bad starting table at the second day until a guy who played every hand joined the table after a few hours. My stack was pretty much the same as in the beginning of the day. This guy was nothing like I've ever seen before, I think he folded twice preflop within about four hours. For example he called a big 3-bet from the blind with 52 suited and outplayed AK to a J high board and showed the hand. This was right after he joined the table so the guy with AK probably thought he has aces or something or something else strong like people normally would have there.

He was making huge all-ins on the river with top pair and guys insta open folding two pair when there was a 3-flush on the board and stuff like that. So obviously you can't play normally against this kind of opponent. There was a 5-way single raised pot, I called from SB with 55 and flop comes 356 all diamonds. I lead out 12500, guy who playes every hand is the only caller. Turn is a 6, I check because he is usually betting when it's checked to him and also because I don't think he has outs. He checks behind and the river is a 3. I check again, I think it's the only way to get more out of him. He bets 15k, which is about one third of the pot. I was going to just call, but since the bet was so small and he shouldn't have a 6 in his hand since he checked the turn, I raised to 45k. I think he is calling with threes full for sure and  easily with something worse too and I still left him some space to make a move. He was making pretty desperate all-in bluffs on the river, when people already called 80% of their stack and river is a total blank.

He moved in against me for 22k more. Of course I have to call, and of course he made quad threes on the river. I still had close to average chips left, but got tilted from this hand and also couldn't make any kind of hands anymore so I went to day 3 with only 17k chips which was 11bb. Second time I moved in after 15 minutes of play, Justin Smith called me with AK. I had pocked jacks and I lost.

I skipped the EPT highroller event, which was probably a very good decision. I played online very late the night before and didn't feel like playing the tournament at all. Since I didn't buy in yet, I just slept until 4pm and saved 20k pounds. I will play the 5k lowroller main event tomorrow or the day after.

One thing I don't understand, how can Jason Mercier win every single tournament in the world? Chip leader or top 3 in chips after every day and wins everything. How do you do it Jason!? Must be nice.
