Shouldn’t have said anything about running good, it turned around soon after my last blog. About 15 days downhill now, don’t even understand what’s happening. I’m playing pretty much the same stakes and games as before. I don’t think I’m playing any worse, just running like shit. Well, that’s poker. And I’m losing pretty much the same what I won during my hot week before last blog entry, so, it’s not that bad really. But losing sucks of course.

At least I did good in something, I was 2nd in a 5k PLO tournament in Helsinki a couple of days ago. There were only 19 players, but anyways… actually it would be amazing if there were more players than that. There was the 7k NL Fennia Grand Slam tournament on Sunday, and they decided to arrange this PLO side event only then. So people didn’t even know about it in advance. And there were just 19 players in the 7k event as well. I was 9th in the NL. 4 players to the money in both tournaments, I got 25k+ EUR for my 2nd place in Omaha.

I ran pretty good overall in the tournament (obv you have to in order to do good in PLO), I won some 3-way ”flips” and so on. I was the chip leader for a long time, Jukka Ylitalo got the chip lead when it turned heads up after he busted Juha Helppi. I felt like I had it under control, even tho he had me outchipped about 200k to 380k. Soon I turned it over, but then there was a tricky setup. I opened with a min-raise from the button to 12k, Jukka called. The flop was QhTs9h, he bet 12k, I raised the pot to 60k, he called. I had 99 and small flush draw. The turn came Tc, he bet 40k, I called. The river was 5s and he went all-in. I would’ve had only like 20k left if I called this. I thought about it for a long time and folded my small fullhouse. Later on he told me he had QT. I had about 200k after this hand, so it was pretty much the same setup as in the beginning of the heads up. Then I just couldn’t win a hand anymore and the blinds were getting high. I’m happy with the way I played heads up so I’m not too sad to finish second. Congrats to Jukka.

I just booked flights to Barcelona, going to play the main (EPT) on 1B and I guess I’m gonna stick around for the highroller (10K) as well.
