well, what can i say. kobe is the man. that was one of the best fridays ive had in a while. stayed up till 3am playing poker and at one point i was down almost $200 for the day, which for a BR/life nit is a huge blow. but i kept playing because i was just really in the mood and won back about 150 before quitting. it was a great feeling! i got up at 7 and went to school after a 4 hr sleep, just brutal! and in the afternoon, i played a nl hu reg at .25/.50, i checked later that he normally plays at 1/2 and 2/4 ( if i had known earlier, i might not have played him). i won about 2 buy ins i think. he was the most aggressive player i've ever played against at .25/50 (maybe because i was always picking on short stackers LOL). im a player who's really aggro on the button, like i would literally raise 95% of the hands, usually. and he obv adjusted to that by 3 betting me a ton! i mean, he 3 bet so much that i have to sometimes 4 bet him pflp in position with a hand like 78s or KQ. on top of 3 betting me, he was also raising a lot on the button. i had to check raise bluff him on the flop acouple times. and as the match went on, i think he caught up on that and was 4 betting me on a lot of flops. i think he was fighting fire with fire, so to speak. and i knew if he ever gets top pair and i have a hand that beats that, i would stack him.

so that all sets up for this hand. remember he's 3 betting me a ton and i've 4 bet him a couple times to make him fold. with effective stacks of about $65 (he had me covered), he raised to 1.5 on button, and i have AA. i reraised him to 5, i didnt think for too long because the game has been really aggressive with both players raising a ton. although i normally would only reraise OOP if 1) he raises too much on the button 2) i have a premium hand. i dont like to play big pots OOP. i play very aggressively in position but really tight when OOP (the thing is though, i dont think he noticed that, i think he just thinks i've been 3 betting him a lot) so a reraise here doesnt look that strong when in fact i would only do so with TT or better and AQs or better or complete air. anyways, then he 4 bet me to 15 after some thoughts. i was obv happy to see that. so the question here is to call or to raise? i think that raising here would be too strong and unless he has JJ+ i prolly wouldn't get any action because he's a very smart player imo. and by calling, i want him to think that i have a hand like a medium pair or big cards like AK, AQ, KQ etc and therefore he would bluff with hands like AJ, AQ and AK on the flop if it comes low cards. so i basically just gave him the control of the pot by calling. and i think that's fine because i want to look weak and vulnerable. so i just called and there's 30 in the pot. flop comes T 3 7, a great flop for me. and i checked and sure enough, he shoved and i insta called, he showed 88 which i was not too surprised to see that hand although i thought he's more likely to have AK or AQ. so i guess he did put me on a couple big cards. the turn and river bricked and i won a nice 120 pot. i think that if i was in his situation, i would prolly 4 bet shove him pflp, so it was a bit of a cooler but i dont think he woulda called if i went all in preflop, so i guess i played that hand somewhat good? lol

today i played another hu with a guy and won like 3 buy ins from him. im definitely getting good cards and hitting better flops and for a hyper aggro player, that means lots of and lots of big pots going his way in a hu match.

any comments on the hand is appreciated, im not a pro, just a student who really likes the psychology and logic in poker. so be kind, dont verbally abuse my family lol thanks
