Been a day or two since my last blog... I've been travelling like crazy! I was just in Tahoe for a Victory Poker thing. We went up to rep at a charity poker tournament, and got thrown a free stay at the Grand Sierra + free lift tickets for a few days at the mountain. I haven't been skiing for years, and shipped it.
One day at Northstar, Antonio and I did a little rock-paper-scissors showdown, and the loser got punished by having to go down the ski lift in only underwear. I beat the Magician, and enjoyed watching him suffer as everyone pelted him with snowballs on the kiddie way down the mountain! Wow, I am so glad I didn't lose that one.
After Tahoe, I was back in Vegas for like 2 days before leaving for Brazil. I am going with my good friend and trainer, David Swanson... and another good friend, David Wells, is meeting us in Rio. I'll be in Rio for two nights causing some damage with my boys... and hopefully fitting in a few sessions online. =)
I'm in Miami right now... sick layover b/c my flight from Vegas was late. Sometimes airlines are so stupid, check this out. So, our flight from Vegas was 2 hours late landing in Miami. Apparently more than half of our plane was heading to Brazil. Instead of delaying the flight from Miami to Rio by an hour, two tops, and getting everyone out. They just put everyone up in a hotel, with free food passes, and rebook everyone for the next day.
Not only does it interfere with everyone's schedule who missed the connection by a full 24-hours, it costs the airline some extra $$ in the form of the free stays and food vouchers. (besides the chance that the flight the next day will now be overbooked!) The only cost would be delaying a flight by 1 or 2 hours, which would cost those who were on the flight that would have been on time otherwise, a few hour delay.
Normally I would never recommend this, but seriously half our plane at least was going to Rio. The whole back section was speaking portuguese, and everyone it seemed had to go over to the rebooking AA section after we landed. It seems like a no-brainer to me. No wonder airline companies are going out of business!
