Nice Value Bet bro....

Postby BobboSlice » 26.11.2010, 06:11

If I say it once, I said it a hundred times.
TURNING STONE CASINO.. middle of nowhere, upstate NY, Slump buster..

500 NL 2-5 blinds.. last night.

A round in I have exactly $500. Im in the big blind A :h: 6 :h:.
Action folds to the button. He raises to $25.
Hero 3 Bets to $130
Button calls $105

Flop 886 rainbow.
I bet out $75---- Now heres this kids make up.. Young college kid, standard Headphones,Sunglasses,Glamor shot poker tee-shirt. Every hand hes in he asks how many chips you have exactly. Hes flaunting every chip trick in the book. The shuffle, chip roll,i may have even seen the hand jive or the jitterbug . Total tool but always great for the game. I actually bet out the small amount because theres no way hes folding an over pair. 2 Hes incapable of making a play on me, without me spotting something i think.. right now hes shaking like a mofo. and 3- 75% I prob am betting for value here.
Button calls 75$
Turn 7
Hero checks
Button checks
River 9
Possible everything out there..... I decided that I have to try and bluff at this street. Represent some sort of straight, full house, trips..im 99% sure im smashed here. So I bet out I think 250 or 270.. not positive. had a couple red chips left.
Button Snap calls and gives me the stare like you just fucked up old man!! lol
Dealer says show and to be honest i didnt want to. lol so i said "just a pair" he says "yeah i got you" and turns over 33 so proud!!
i said well I got a 6.
and took down a decent pot.
After the hand he took off his sunglasses, head phones, and wondered why i slowrolled him because i said just a pair and not 2 pair lol wtf. I thought it was granted we were both playing the pair on the board and i didnt need to point that out.
Anyways the quote of the night was by the kid in the 5 seat who said
"good read and nice value bet on the end man"

I laughed and looked back at him like bro laugh with me. but he never looked back, This guy was dead serious.!!
This is nothing new here at TS, these players are here on the regular.

Kids like that make me puke. My question to them and to people in general thinking of costuming themselves in such a garb is such: Why make it obvious you know what you're doing, isn't this supposed to be a hustle?
