Second part in the Pokernews' feature The Top 10 Online Poker Innovations.

Read the first part here.

5. Resizable tables
In the early days the table size was fixed and multitabling more than 4 tables was hell. Modern day grinders can play 12 or 16 tables with ease with any screen, boosting their profits tremendously.

4. Guaranteed prize pools
A guarantee brings the players. Works like a charm almost every time: PokerStars' recent $4 million GTD Sunday Million attracted more than 36,000 players creating a prize pool of more than $7 million. Every once in a while there's overlay and free money for the players.

3. Tracking software
Some say this is the innovation that ruined online poker but they "tend to be losing players," says Pokernews. Not just for spying on other players' tendencies, programs like PokerTracker or Holdem Manager are an excellent help in analysing your own game.

2. Rakeback
Thanks to rakeback, even a slightly losing player can make a nice paycheck playing online poker, and rebuilding your roll at smaller stakes after a downswing is much faster.

1. Live tournament satellites
Cheap online satellites have had a huge impact to the poker world as a whole. Satellites are the reason why the WSOP and the WPT grew so fast, and a tournament series like the EPT probably wouldn't exist without them.

The one innovation that Coinflip staff misses from the list are sit & go tournaments. Like heads up play, sit & go's are older than online poker but that's where they developed into an important part of the game.
