The Norwegian pro Andreas Hoivold took part in the new season of High Stakes Poker, which was shot in November. However, the highlight of his trip to Vegas was rather more surprising even to himself: He met a pretty dealer at the Golden Nugget, fell madly in love and ended up marrying the girl after just a few days!


Hoivold talks about his adventure in his blog entry titled, "The craziest man in Norwar is even crazier than expected". He says he regrets hurting his Norwegian girlfriend Anna, but he was just swept away when he met Vicki Ann Sims at the Golden Nugget when she was dealing at Hoivold's table.

At first he had to pluck up the courage to talk to her, though, and solved the problem in true "poker style": He tipped Vicki Ann $50 and wrote his name and phone number on the bill. To his surprise and delight, the next morning the pretty dealer did phone him.

After a few dinners the pair started joking about getting married, and amazingly the next day they did; first they bought rings at Caesars Palace, and then they were off to the magistrate in Downtown Las Vegas.

Before that, Hoivold had to phone his girlfriend in Norway to break the bad news, and Anna's tears did not make him feel proud about himself.

"I am very excited about what the future holds! Both on and off the poker table!" the newly wed husband says. He's buying an apartment in the Panorama Towers, Las Vegas for his new wife and himself.
