Former stock investor Andy Frankenberger took down the biggest cash in his poker career winning the WPT Legends of Poker title at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. The win was worth $750,000.
Frankenberger was in bad shape with 3 players left but a couple of timely double-ups took him to the lead. After Tom Lee busted, Frankenberger started heads up vs Kyle Wilson in a clear 8.9m to 2.6m lead. It lasted just a few hands and ended when the chips went in preflop with Frankenberger holding A9s over Wilson's A3s.
This is Frankenberger's second win and 6th cash this year; in June he took down the $2k NLHE event at the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza for $162k. His total tournament cashes are now $952,306.
462 players entered the event.
1. Andy Frankenberger $750,000
2. Kyle Wilson $370,000
3. Tom Lee $174,772
4. Tom Braband $109,000
5. Jared Jaffee $86,000
6. Franco Brunetti $63,000
