Annette Obrestad has surprisingly jumped over to Full Tilt Poker from her previous sponsor Betfair. The Norwegian poker pro will represent Full Tilt Pro team at her first WSOP in a month's time.
Obrestad, who turned 21 last year, started her poker career at age 15 (as her nick name "Annette_15" suggests) playing in freerolls after her mother famously refused to make a deposit for her on an online poker site. After Obrestad had made $9 in a freeroll, she started playing $1 sit & gos and her bankroll gradually grew. Finally Annette_15 was playing in large MTT's, making 5-figure cashes regularly and chasing top spots in all online tournament rankings.
Her first live cash came right after she had turned 18 ($12,145 for 37th place at the UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic in 2006) and a year later she sensationally won the first WSOP Europe Main Event a day before turning 19. Only a couple of weeks later she was runner-up at the EPT Dublin. Later successes include 13th place at the EPT Grand Final in 2009, and at this year's Aussie Millions she won the 1k PLO side event and made the final table at the main event. Her total tournament cashes are 3.1 million dollars. In online tournaments she has cashed approximately 2 million dollars - and bought a new house for her strict mom.
She is on top of the all time money list for Norwegian players, 5th on the Nordic all time list and 3rd on the women's list behind only Kathy Liebert and Annie Duke.
