$2 million is the goal the organizers have set for the 3rd Annual Ante Up for Africa charity tournament which will take place tonight at the Rio in Las Vegas.
The tournament aims to raise money to fund projects aiding the humanitarian effort in Darfur, Sudan such as the ENOUGH project and Refugees International. Annie Duke and Don Cheadle will host the $5,000 buy-in tournament.
Some celebrities slated to attend are Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and from the poker world we will probably see Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Jennifer Harman, Andy Bloch and many, many others. The event is also open to the public so everyone, of legal age, can head to the Rio and buy into the tournament.
“It is important to me to show people that it is possible to make a difference for the people of Darfur,” said co-founder Annie Duke.
