The final table at the PokerStars EPT Copenhagen main event climaxed in a nearly 4-hour heads up between Anton Wigg of Sweden and Francesco De Vivo of Italy; despite suffering a couple of heavy setbacks the young Swede managed to turn the game to his corner and was rewarded with the winner's check of almost €500,000.
In the decisive hand Wigg got the chips in ahead and managed to avoid De Vivo's outs: Wigg AJ, De Vivo KT and the board came QQ9 2 8.
"It feels wonderful. I was here to win," Wigg said to PokerStars Blog. On De Vivo, he said: "I think he played really, really well but he was a little bit passive in the heads up."
Still only 22, Wigg has played professionally for three years. This is his first ever cash at an EPT main event. Last summer he scored his biggest cash before Copenhagen, €55,000 for the win at EMOP Barcelona.
