A few lucky people were able to witness what will likely be the buzz of many online poker forums for the next few days. Season four of Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash Game features an amazing line up of poker pros including Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen and Tom “durrrr” Dwan. This is why you couldn’t expect anything less than being witness to the biggest pot in televised poker history.

The winner of this behemoth stack was none other than Tom Dwan. 20 hours of poker had gone by with players having deserted the table, with the exception of the big three, Antonius, Ivey and Dwan. With almost $2.2 million on the table between the three of them, they decide to raise the stakes to $1000/$2000 with a $200 ante. Action started on Dwan on the button with a pre-flop raise. Ivey re-raises and Antonius quickly folds. Dwan calls and the flop shows Qc 3s 5c. At that point there is a pot of $60,000 on the table. Ivey fires a stack worth $40,000. Dwan doesn’t have to think too much about it and just calls. The turn reveals the card of the night, a 4h which sends everybody’s heart racing faster than Usain Bolt. Ivey puts out a second bullet, but it’s quickly overshadowed by a staggering bet of $240,000 by Dwan. It was decision time for Ivey, but after delaying the inevitable for as long as he could, “All-in” and an insta-call from Dwan.

Dwan shows 6h 7h, hitting the nut-straight and Ivey could only look in disgust as he shows his Ac 2h for a lower straight. The river is a Jh which doesn’t matter for the outcome, which is so far the biggest pot in televised history, a staggering $1.1 million

The show will be aired in January and so far there hasn’t been a “leak” of the video, so we’re left to wait till 2010 to catch all of the action.
