Event #39, $1.5k NL Hold'em ended in a bitter disappointment for Brandon Cantu, who came within a card of winning the whole thing before succumbing to Ray Foley.
Cantu got his money in with a dominating hand AQ vs A7, but the board ran 588 6 5 giving Foley a split. Then came another preflop all-in, this time Foley had the better hand with TT vs K9, but the flop was K53 and once again Cantu had a dominating lead. The turn was a T, doubling up Foley into the lead and seemingly taking the wind out of Cantu's sails. He looked dejected and finally the match was settled when he reluctantly called all-in on a board of J93, showing J7 to Foley's QJ. No help came and Ray Foley from Detroit, Michigan took down his first bracelet.
