Viktor "Isildur1" Blom last night hosted another SuperStar Showdown match on PokerStars against Rui "PepperoniF" Cao. The match ended with "Isildur1" taking a $150,000 win after 2,257 hands.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom last night took yet another win in his signature SuperStar Showdown series, after snatching a comfortable victory from his most recent challenger, Rui "PepperoniF" Cao.

The two have had several encounters this year on PokerStars already, but last night they had agreed to play a spectacle match of 2,500 hands, with each player bringing a $150,000 bankroll to four tables with stakes of $50/$100.

Playing equal parts NLHE and PLO, the match would almost instantly start throwing sparks, as the first all-in occurred already after 60 seconds of play.

This happened on one of the PLO tables, where "Isildur1" rivered a flush to take the first $20,000 pot of the meeting, and from then on there was no looking back for either player.

Blom, however, would move on to dominate the match, and after having won a major hand holding a flush-over-flush at one of the NLHE tables, the Swede would soon deliver a decisive blow to his challenger as he took home a $67,700 PLO pot only minutes after.

After a series of raises of re-raises the two players started getting money on the table on a flop, with Cao holding for the nut flush draw and Blom holding for a flopped straight.

Cao led out, and Blom opted to smooth-call, both players seeing a turn. Cao fired again, but was now met by Blom's re-raise to $49,600, and made the call for his remaining $15,250.

The river blanked with the and Blom shipped the $67,700 pot, at the same time putting him in the lead by $99,650 after 956 hands.

Cao was now severely short stacked across all four tables, and with Blom continuing to apply pressure, there was simply no coming back for the French-Chinese challenger.

After 2,257 hands, Cao finally had to surrender as he lost the last of his $150,000 bankroll holding two pair against Blom's middle set, seeing "Isildur1" take the win and the honors after an intense encounter.

Blom at the same time moved beyond $500,000 in SuperStar Showdown winnings, as well as his winning record was boosted to 8-2, following victories against Daniel Negreanu, Tony G, Eugene Katchalov and Scott "URnotINdanger2" Palmer, among others.
