The European Poker Tour is ready to hit the Italian city of San Remo, where the main event is scheduled to begin tomorrow at noon. The event will be one of the biggest of the 2011 EPT calendar.

The European Poker Tour is ready to hit its penultima stop this season as the EPT San Remo kicks off tomorrow at noon, local time.

The San Remo event is by now an EPT classic, and traditionally one of the most popular stops of the entire tour.

This was underlined last year when 1,240 players signed up for the €5,000 main event, creating the largest prize pool of the season worth more than €5.5 million.

The tournament saw Team PokerStars pro Liv Boeree make her breakthrough as a professional poker player, as she took home the main event win and €1.25 million in cash.

This year will be the fourth year in a row the EPT caravan unpacks its spectacle in the Mediterranean resort city, and already a number of pros are expected to rush in and make the 2011 edition of the event yet another success.

Among them are players like Terrence Chan, Melanie Weisner, Kevin Vandermissen and Shander de Vries, who all used their Twitter accounts to confirm their participation earlier today.

2010 champion Liv Boeree also sent out a tweet today confirming her presence ahead of the tournament, saying "Hello San Remo" Damn it's good to be back!"

The tournament will commence at noon, local time, tomorrow and continue until a winner is found on Sunday evening.

A full participants list will be announced as the runners sign up at the Casino San Remo, with detailed prize pool and payout information expected to be made public around Friday afternoon.
