When Simon Watt beat Tom Dwan heads up at the WSOP $1.5k NLHE event, Mike Matusow was there to congratulate him and said he had become an instant hero in Bobby's Room. According to Matusow, because of sidebets the bracelet would have been worth $12.5 million for durrrr!

"Dwan was playing for the Main Event title right there," Matusow said to CardPlayer.

Earlier it has been said that Dwan stood to win "more than 2 million" with a bracelet, but it seems the "more" in that sentence meant much, much more.

It's understandable that Dwan found this defeat hard to swallow. After shaking hands with his opponent, he left the Amazon Room quickly without stopping to talk to anyone.

Equally understandably, Watt was not apologetic about his win. "It was amazing," he said to CardPlayer. "It would have been crazy enough just being at a final table, but playing Durrrr heads up, it can’t really get much better than that."

Matusow predicted that Watt's picture would end up at the wall in Bobby's Room. "Here is Simon, saved everyone from going broke," he joked.

In this podcast (mp3 file), the Tao of Pokerati team Pauly and Benjo are there to describe the high stakes pros' reactions when the match between Watt and durrrr ended. It happened at the same time when Day 1 at the $10k Stud-8 Championship was closing so a lot of the players who had bets with durrrr where there to see it first hand.
