Cake Poker's Cardroom Manager Lee Jones has made another post on the 2+2 forum addressing the issue of the hand where the software pushed the pot to the wrong player (read the earlier news here). The software team at Cake haven't pinpointed the cause of the malfunction yet, but Jones states that this was a one time occurrence that won't likely ever happen again anyway.
As Jones mentions, there are an incalculable number of variables that may lead to an event like this and they won't probably be in place for a second time. "Obviously, we had a perfect storm of state variables which caused this problem. We don't believe it's happened before and we definitely don't expect it to happen again. But we're putting in more checks to make sure it doesn't," Jones writes on the post on 2+2.
To put their money where their mouth is, Cake Poker promise to ship $500 to anyone who can find a similar incident in their hand histories on Cake. "If you were the true winner of the pot and it wasn't pushed to you, we'll send you double the size of the pot plus the $500," Jones adds.
"It's a huge deal to us and the development team has its best people looking into it," Jones concludes the message.
