The security issues on the Cake Poker software have now been resolved completely and also the beta version is safe to use, Pokertableratings.com reports.

"We can verify that the data stream is SSL encrypted on both the standard software and the beta client. We have been unable to reproduce any of the vulnerabilities we detected previously," Pokertableratings.com states.

However, it is not yet sure whether all skins on the Cake network have implemented the security updates. To check this, go to c:/Program Files/(name of the skin you use) on your computer and look for a file called ssleay32.dll. If it's contained in the software directory, your skin is safe to play. The PowerPoker skin includes the SSL update.
