In the extremely fast paced final table of the WSOP Ladies World Championship event, it was 37-year-old Hawaaian Lisa Hamilton who came on top of the 1,060 strong field and took down the bracelet plus $195,390 winner's prize.

When play got down to 9-handed, it took less than 4 hours to get at heads up stage and then just a couple of hands to find the winner. Hamilton held a clear lead on Lori Bender and got the chips in good when Bender check-raised her all-in on turn when the board read Jc 8c 3s 4s. Hamilton called and turned over Qs 8s, Bender had 9s 8h and didn't find another nine on the river.

Lisa Hamilton had a well known supporter in the crowd, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier who explained that Lisa is close friends with his girlfriend. She's a cash game specialist who amazingly was playing in just her first live tournament at the Ladies Event.

Some notable female pros near the top of the list are JJ Liu (13th) and Karina Jett (21st).
