Experienced Swedish pro Christer Johansson celebrated victory at the Irish Open after defeating Kara Scott heads up to take the title and the €600,000 prize money.

Scott started heads up in a slight lead, but lost almost half of her chips in the very first hand when Johansson made a full house on the river with the board reading 772 T 2 and Johansson holding A2.

The decisive hand came soon after, the money going in on a flop of KJ7 with two diamonds. Johansson held K3, Scott J9 and the turn or the river didn't improve her hand.

As irony would have it, Johansson was almost out of the tournament prior to the heads up when he got his chips in bad with an overpair against Scott's flopped nut straight. But the turn and river brought a runner-runner straight on the board and the Swede was salvaged to an unlikely split!

Christer Johansson has previously taken one WPT title in Paris back in 2003. His total tournament cashes prior to this win were $1.3 million.
