Daniel Negreanu continues to work hard on his multitable skills ahead of this weekend's second encounter with Viktor "Isildur1" Blom. Since losing the first round on Sunday, the Canadian has won $100,000.

Daniel Negreanu and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom last Sunday clashed in the sixth version of the SuperStar Showdown challenges in what to many was one of the most interesting meetings of the year.

Negreanu had been practicing hard ahead of his face-off with Blom, but was literally run over by the Swede, losing all of his initial $150,000 buy-in in less than 1,500 hands.

Sunday's match, however, was only the first of two planned rounds of play, and a rematch is therefore in the making, scheduled to be played already this Sunday afternoon.

A resigning Negreanu described his loss to his fellow Team PokerStars pro as "frustrating", and he has since been very active at the high stakes tables on PokerStars, seemingly trying to improve his game further ahead of the rematch.

According to numbers from Highstakesdb.com, the dedication seems to be paying off, as the Canadian star has begun producing positive results, already winning back the majority of what he lost to Blom.

Playing a large number of hands at the $50/$100 HU NLHE tables, Negreanu is up almost $100,000 for the week, with the majority coming from a single encounter yesterday.

Here, he faced the anonymous "Halozination" in a duel of more than 2,000 hands, resulting in a plus of nearly $61,000.

The PokerStars idol seems to feel more and more comfortable with the online arena, and has even issued a challenge to another infamous HU NLHE expert, Brian "stinger88" Hastings.

This too happened yesterday when Negreanu sent out an encouraging tweet in Hasting's direction saying "When am I going to play you?"

Brian Hasting was ironically the player who ended Viktor "Isildur1" Blom's by now legendary 2009 run on Full Tilt Poker when he cleaned out the Swedish sensation in a series of highly followed high stakes HU PLO and NLHE battles.

The second round of the SuperStar Showdown match between Daniel Nergeanu and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom will kick off Sunday at 7pm, CET.
