The Coinflip Challenge where one lucky player gets a chance to wager $10,000 to win $100,000 playing against three experts in three disciplines - PLO with Ziigmund, Backgammon with former World Champion Peter Hallberg and Chess with Grandmaster Sune Berg Hansen - has created a lot of discussion, including a thread on the 2+2 forum.
As on Coinflip, the users on 2+2 are almost unified in condemning the Challenge as nearly impossible because of the almost non-existent luck factor in chess. However, as our esteemed CEO Erik Smith states, "It's beyond any doubt that the challenger would have to be a very good chess player to have +EV but we are confident that we will find a challenger who does have a chance to take down the $100,000."
View the 2+2 thread to see some discussion about possible contenders who might have +ev in the Challenge.
The Coinflip Challenge will be played in front of cameras live from October 8th to 10th as part of the festivities at Betsafe GSOP Rigged in Riga event in the Latvian capital. The $10,000 fee for the Challenger includes flights and accommodation in Riga.
