Recently Annette Obrestad made a comment about Doyle Brunson and other old time pros that was bound to draw a response from the man himself. He did so via his Twitter account yesterday - but soon apologized for his choice of words.

Annette made her comment in an interview with the ESPN Magazine, saying she would rather play against a "table full of Doyle Brunsons" than online pros. "I would much rather sit at a table of Doyle Brunsons. Online players process information so much faster and don't let their egos get in the way of becoming a better player. No disrespect to Doyle, but I'd rather play him," Annette said to ESPN.

Doyle Brunson heard about it and it looks like he saw red briefly, as yesterday he wrote on Twitter:

"Must be a bad tme of the month for Annette whats her name. By the way, I'm at Bobby's Room almost every day if she really wants to play."

Not the best possible choice of words for sure, and just a few hours later Doyle wrote again:

"I apologize to women everywhere about my 'time of the month' comment. I'm afraid I've been a little peeved lately:-( "

Annette is young and full of self-confidence and she is known for her often stinging comments on other players, while Doyle grew up as a player in the smoky back rooms of Texas gambling joints. It was probably inevitable that there would be little bit of sparks flying when these two worlds finally collided.
