Doyle Brunson says he has to withdraw from the PartyPoker Premier League and a number of other upcoming tournaments. "My gut feeling is just chill out until the WSOP and try to have a big series," the veteran says on his blog on Doyle's Room.

The problem is that Doyle is going to a dental surgery that requires lots of changes in his schedule. Apart from the PartyPoker Premier League, he is also going to skip the WPT LA Poker Classic, WPT Celebrity Invitational, a tv tournament hosted by PokerStars and the NBC HU Championship.

"I’ll have to bow out of all these tournaments because there is no use playing unless you are at your best. The competition has gotten so good you need to feel good physically as well as mentally to have a chance to win," the old pro says.

Doyle also says that a recent trip to London left him feeling like "a truck has run over him" and laments, "Could it be my age is finally catching up to me?"

We hope not!
