Two of the smaller online poker networks, Everleaf Gaming Network and Universal Poker Network (UPN) have announced they have joined forces to attract more players in a new, yet unnamed network. At this point the new network is aiming for a player average of 600 at any given time, approximately the same size as Betfair and some other sites.
Pokerscout.com tracked UPN since October 2009 and since then, the network grew from a player average of 60-70 to 300, while Everleaf Gaming stayed at 70-80.
Before the merger UPN was open to non-Americans only, but Everleaf Gaming accepted American players and so will the new network. You can set up the account in euros or in dollars.
One indication of the growth strategy is the earlier announcement that Alec "traheho" Torelli is leaving Doyle's Room to become the leading pro in a yet unnamed new site that is joining the new network.
