Celebrities, sports stars and poker pros gathered together in London for the Jamie Gold Charity Tournament, held as part of the Poker in the Park festivities. The event was hosted by the 2006 WSOP Main Event winner and co-hosted by the current champion Peter Eastgate.
The aim for the event was to raise funds for the various charities supported by the Jamie Gold Foundation. All 50 seats were sold, among the field were soccer star Teddy Sheringham, actor Michael Greco and numerous UK poker pros like John Tabatabai and Ian Frazer.
Buy-ins went to the Jamie Gold Foundation, but there were a number of donations in the prize pool, including seats to the EPT and Unibet Open, donated by PokerStars and Unibet respectively.
The tournament was played out in good spirits at the Casino at the Empire, in the end it was the Swedish pro Mikael Gabrielsson who took the title.
