"Why did I ever stop playing nosebleeds?" wonders Phil Galfond on his blog on Bluefirepoker.com. It looks like winning $1.6 million in one day has that effect on you.

Galfond describes the session with Isildur1 (read here) as swingy but "ending up very well for him". He has posted a graph of the last part of the session, played at 500/1k PLO, where he made all his money, and it shows that he was actually running below All-in EV despite winning $1.6 million! "I ran above EV during the 2/4nl and 3/6plo, where I broke about even, and in total, I ran exactly at AIev," he says.

"I obviously ran insanely hot to win this much though," he adds.

"Isildur is a sick individual and I have all the respect in the world for him," Galfond says and makes a promise to post some of the hands from the session later on.
