Two bracelets found new owners last night in the Rio Amazon Room in Las Vegas. Gavin Smith won the $2,500 Mixed Hold'emin (Event #44) and took home his first gold bracelet. Ian Gordon won the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E (Event #43) beating Richard Ashby heads up.

The field of 507 players started the $2,500 Mixed Hold'em event on Thursday and there were only the last man standing late Saturday evening. Gavin Smith had collected over $5M in tournament earnings yet not to win a bracelet before Saturday. Saturday Amazon Room spectators saw a happy man on the bracelet ceremony after Smith beat Danny Hannawa heads up and collected $268,238 first prize money along with the WSOP bracelet.

Before the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E title, Ian Gordon had only cashed once in the live tournament circuit. The heads up opponent, Richard "Chufty" Ashby had a quite different résumé: millions of dollars won online, almost a million in live tournament cashes prior to the H.O.R.S.E event and Ashby had already won his first bracelet earlier this year from WSOP Event #21, the $1,5k Seven Card Stud.
