Harrah's Entertainment, the owner of the WSOP brand, seem to be getting ready for the much antipicated re-opening of the US online gambling market. In an agreement announced this week, 888.com's business-to-business division Dragonfish will provide the online gaming services to Harrah's subsidiary Harrah's Interactive Entertainment for the launch of the WSOP and Caesars Casino brands in the Internet.

The first launch will take place in the UK but no schedule was included in the announcement.

Apart from poker and casino software, the comprehensive deal includes payment, CRM, customer support and VIP services.

"As we develop and roll out our interactive strategy, we have chosen to work with 888, primarily for their world-class technology, scalability, and a strong commitment to compliance, and responsible gaming," said Mitch Garber, Chief Executive Officer of HIE.

Harrah's operates more than 50 land based casinos. 888.com is the owner of Pacific Poker and one of the largest online gaming companies in Europe.

Everest Poker and Betfair are among the biggest sponsors of the WSOP. It remains to be seen what will happen with the sponsorship deals when Harrah's enters the same market as the two.
