The public vote for Poker Hall of Fame 2010 is over and the final list of 10 nominees has been published. The panel consisting of media representatives and current Hall of Famers will choose up to two names from the short list.

According to CardPlayer.com, 102 players received votes, with these 10 receiving the most (in alphabetical order):

Chris Ferguson
Barry Greenstein*
Jennifer Harman
Dan Harrington*
Phil Ivey*
Linda Johnson
Tom McEvoy*
Daniel Negreanu*
Scotty Nguyen*
Erik Seidel*
(players marked with an asterisk were also nominated last year)

The two players receiving the most yes votes from the panel will be inducted to the Poker Hall of Fame provided they get more than 50% yes votes. Last year the requirement was 75% and Mike Sexton (pictured) was the only nominee chosen to the Hall of Fame.

When making the final decision, the panel follows these criteria:

1. The player must have played poker against acknowledged top competition.

2. The player must have played for high stakes.

3. The player must have played consistently well, gaining the respect of their peers.

4. The player must have stood the test of time.

5. If the nominee was not a player, they must have contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.
