Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro emerged as the biggest winner in last week's high stakes games on Full Tilt Poker. The Finnish pro collected a handsome profit of $1.36 million for 7 days.
Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, who was the biggest winner on Sunday together with Sami, didn't quite manage to turn his week into a profitable one, instead he had to settle for a loss of -$108k.
Tom "durrrr" Dwan seems to have put his downswing behind him and won $744k from March 16th to 22nd. luckexpress10 raked in $443k.
The biggest losers were Di "Urindanger" Dang -$622k, Gus Hansen -$579k and Brian "tsarrasr" Rast (-$575k), who had to suffer some huge swings throughout the week.
All in all it was another eventful high stakes week. On Wednesday the tables were buzzing when a new player, Gypsie Queen appeared at the $500/$1,000 level. The waiting list was filled quickly as everybody was looking for a chance to take a shot against the newcomer. Gypsie Queen played some 2,000 hands and lost -$360k.
However, the most talked about incident of the week was the hand between Gus Hansen, Di Dang and Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond. This is how the hand went down:
Hansen had a stack of $99k, Di Dang $48k and Galfond $199k. Hansen raised to $3.5k, Dang called, Phil Ivey called, Galfond raised to $18.5k from the small blind. Hansen called, and now Dang re-raised all-in. Ivey folded, Galfond 5-bet and Hansen called all-in.
Hansen Jd 9s 8d 7h
Urindanger Qd Qs 8s 8c
OMGClayAiken As Ac Ks 7c
The board came Kh 7s 4d 5d 2h and the $250k pot was shipped to Galfond. Gus Hansen didn't take Dang's raise too kindly:
Gus Hansen: too suspicious for me
Gus Hansen: nice play guys
Gus Hansen: and somehow they both were quiet
Phil Ivey: definitely collusion lol
Urindanger: you're an idiot
Gus Hansen: If you think the QQ88 is a good play there you wouldnt have any money
Gus Hansen: thats why it is strange
The following day Gus and Phil Galfond continued their discussion of the hand. Hansen pointed out that he didn't suspect Galfond of colluding, but he was still suspicious of Dang's raise with a weak hand and hinted that Dang and Galfond (who are good friends) might have had pieces of each other in the game.
Galfond denied this and said they only have pieces of each other in heads up games, not when they are playing in the same table. Furthermore he was angry with Gus for making such accusations in public. "It's very bad for online poker, and my name gets dragged through the mud, whether it was your intention or not," Galfond said.
