Poker history books say that Jamie Gold is the poker player who took the largest cash prize ever when he won his first WSOP bracelet; Gold received $12,000,000 for his efforts. However, according to Pokerlistings.com there just might be a player who received the astonishing sum of $14,000,000 for winning a bracelet.

Though it is not official and the money was not a share of the prize pool, the word is Phil Ivey collected $14 mill from side bets when he won the $2.5k Omaha / 7 Card Stud Event getting the seventh bracelet of his career and the second one during this year's WSOP.

Perhaps it was his attitude after taking down the $2.5k 2-7 Draw event that got him so much action going for the second one. When he walked into the players' lounge he was congratulated by all before he announced, "I'll win another within two weeks."

Everyone knows that Phil Ivey is good but announcing that he would take another bracelet in two weeks seemed like he was pushing it too far for many!

"Ok, so who'll give me action then?" asked Ivey. "I'll take it all."

A lot of players decided to go for it confident that it was almost impossible for Ivey to win another bracelet in two weeks. A week later Ivey won that bracelet for a huge achievement. Many tried to estimate how much Ivey collected from the side action but it was not until news broke that Ivey talked to a Vegas taxi driver and let it slip how much that bracelet was worth. It is not known what the odds were and how much Ivey was risking on the bets.

Even though this is not a completely legitimate source, if true, the sum is extremely big and probably the largest ever paid for a WSOP bracelet.
