It didn't take long before Annie Duke's side of the fence reacted to Daniel Negreanu's spiteful comments about Duke in an interview with Poker Player Magazine. Duke's brother Howard Lederer responded to Negreanu through his Twitter page.

In the Poker Player interview, Negreanu critized Duke in harsh words for hypocrisy concerning her negative stance on ladies only poker tournaments.

"So on one side of the coin she’s fighting for, ‘Oh, we’re all equal, there shouldn’t be any gender thing,’ but when appropriate she decides to call herself the best female poker player in the world. So I’m like ‘how offensive are you, you f***ing c***? You want to say you’re speaking for women, yet you claim superiority over all of them,'" Negreanu said to Poker Player.

Howard Lederer has quite understandably taken offense on the way Negreanu speaks about his sister, and he posted this message on his Twitter page:

"Hey Daniel, nice job representing poker and reinforcing that our attitude towards women is still Neanderthal."

A little later Lederer continued with another message:

"I understand some agree w DN on the ladies poker event issue. Many do. But abusing those you disagree with is never cool."
