Yesterday the final table of the Ante Up for Africa was played out during Day 1a of the EPT Grand Final. French professional poker player Isabelle Mercier took the tournament down besting a tough final table.

At the final table Isabelle sat with the following players:

  • Seat 1: Dario Minieri - 43,400
  • Seat 2: John Duthie - 39,000
  • Seat 3: Patrick Chene - 20,100
  • Seat 4: Sebastian Chabal - 20,300
  • Seat 5: Luca Pagano - 41,500
  • Seat 6: Tony Guoga (Tony G) - 18,200
  • Seat 7: Daniel Negreanu - 151,000
  • Seat 8: Teddy Sheringham - 44,900
  • Seat 9: Isabelle Mercier - 42,700
  • Daniel Negreanu was dominating the table but Minieri and Sheringham were catching up really fast. Chabal, Duthie and Chene busted out quickly, followed by Pagano. Then Daniel Negreanu left the felt and Tony G was eliminated, too. Minieri was third leaving all his chips to Sheringham who came in with a 3:1 chip lead over Mercier.

But it did not last long, and Isabelle Mercier took the victory when her As 2d held up against Sheringham's Ts 4h. "It was great fun to play, but overall I am very proud to have helped raise so much money." Mercier said.

The Europe Ante-Up for Africa event managed to raise €260,000 for charity work in Darfur, Sudan.
