Phenomenal tournament player Jason Mercier took down the PokerStars NAPT Mohegan Sun high roller event, the 25k Bounty Shootout, and $470,000 cash to go with it.

This time Mercier needed more than his fair share of luck before defeating Sam Stein heads up. First he was saved by a split pot when the chips went in with A8 vs A9; then he hit a six-outer on the river with KT vs AQs (board AJ2 5 Q); and finally Stein was left with just the remnants of a stack when Mercier hit another six-outer on the river: 33 vs AJ, and the board came J62 4 5. On the next hand the last chips were in with any two and again Mercier was the lucky one.

The winner takes all the money at the NAPT Bounty Shootout final table, so Stein will probably remember this heads up for a long time. In the picture you can see his reaction to Mercier's rivered straight in the KT vs AQ hand.

1. Jason Mercier – $445.000 (7 bounties) + buy-in to the next NAPT Bounty Shootout
2. Sam Stein – $75.000 (3)
3. Faraz Jaka – $80.000 (4)
4. Matt Glantz – $70.000 (2)
5. Shawn Buchanan – $80.000 (4)
6. Luis “Bachy” Vazquez – $70.000 (4)
