As was widely expected, World Champion Jonathan Duhamel has officially become the newest member in the Team PokerStars Pro. The first Canadian Main Event winner joins a team of several world champions.

The only real surprise about Jonathan Duhamel signing with PokerStars is that it didn't happen sooner than two months after his win. Of the eight world champions since 2003, only the two most unpopular with the fans, Jamie Gold and Jerry Yang have not signed with the largest online poker room. After Peter Eastgate announced that he is quitting poker (or at least going on a long vacation), Duhamel joins a team that contains four fellow Main Event winners in Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, and Joe Cada.

"I want to be playing the biggest tournaments in the world," Duhamel said. "I'm going to do my best to pull off another big score."
