According to a recent article published by The American Conservative, online gambling has a good chance of being legalized within the next few years. Of course these are all conclusions based on speculations, but they make a good point when it comes to why the UIGEA was written in such a vague manner and why it doesn’t exactly make internet gambling illegal, but only made it illegal to deposit money into an online casino for the purposes of betting.

They also point out that big offshore gaming establishments such as UK based gaming giant, Betfair, have successfully acquired Television Games Network (TGN) in a deal worth over $50 million. TGN is the biggest interactive racing channel in the US. They have also opened up offices in California, where they will begin to develop software. Are they placing themselves just ahead of the starting line, just waiting for the gun to go off? Most would say they are.
