A very interesting prop bet ran yesterday in Las Vegas in the name of charity. Professional poker player from England Liv Boeree took on Pokernews Hostess Melissa Castello in an amateur boxing match in Barry's Boxing Centre in Las Vegas called 'Rumble Nowhere Near the Rio'.
All proceeds were donated to each fighter's charity of choice resulting in $1,000 going to the Marie Curie Cancer Test in the name of Liv Boeree and $500 for the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California in the name of Melissa Castello.
Both contestants entered the ring to the Rocky theme which was quite amusing. When the fight began Boeree was giving Castello some hard punches and Castello kept coming back for more. Boeree clearly won rounds 1 and 3 and was awarded the victory on a unanimous decision.
"Winning was 100% important," Liv said. "I could not lose. I couldn't let my lot down. They were cheering me on and had bets on me so I had to win. There was no other option."
