Joseph Cheong and Soi Nguyen (pictured on the right in Day 4) emerged as clear leaders over the rest of the field on Day 7 of the WSOP Main Event when the field played down to 27 players.

It seemed like the plot for the tournament was completely re-written, as chip leader Theo Jörgensen busted in 30th place and Michael Mizrachi dropped down to 16th place, while only Matt Jarvis and John Racener retained their places in the Top 10, apart from Nguyen and Cheong who started in 9th and 10th place respectively. Other players who hit the rail were Alexander "Postflopaction" Kostritsyn and David Benyamine.

The Danish players Mads Wissing is still in there in 21st place and he made what must have been one of the most creative plays on Day 7. Patrick Eskandar raised 235k, Wissing made the call on the big blind. Flop came with three diamonds (Kd Jd 5d) and both players checked. Turn Kc, Wissing checked, Eskandar bet 275k, Wissing called. River Jc, and Wissing woke up to bet 600k on the double-paired board. Eskandar sighed and showed the flopped nut flush (Ad 6d) before mucking; Wissing showed a wired pair of black 3's and raked in the pot.

The Main Event continues on level 60k/120k/ante 15k and the average stack at this point is approximately 8 million. On Saturday the game continues until we have the line-up for this year's November Nine. So far the players are sure of cashing $317,161.
