As was reported earlier, Two Plus Two Publishing are suing the poker pro and businessman Dutch Boyd for trademark infringements. The company founder Mason Malmuth has posted a message on the 2+2 forum explaining the reasons behind the law suit.

In the earlier news Boyd commented on Malmuth, "Mason has shown over and over that he is a bully and willing to outspend his perceived adversaries into submission. The lawsuit he is bringing against me is based on a domain name that he currently owns: `twoplustwopoker.com.' It is without merit and is designed to encourage me to pay him off or face a substantial legal bill defending myself against it."

In his reply, Malmuth states that Boyd has "earned substantial revenue" from the said website that contained poker related links, graphics and banner ads. According to Two Plus Two's lawyers, the domain name twoplustwopoker.com is a blatant infringement on trademark.

Malmuth says that Boyd was contacted numerous times to resolve the matter, but Boyd showed no interest in this. When the last e-mail from 2+2 lawyers was met with a two word response, "F*** off," the law suit was filed the next day.

"We never enter into litigation lightly, and it is never our attempt to “bully” anyone. However, we take protection of our intellectual property very seriously...Due to the time and money we’ve spent building our brand, and the prominent role of the Internet in our success, we cannot afford to take this type of blatant infringement lightly," Malmuth writes.
