The Sunday Times' Rich List examines the wealth of the Britain's richest 1,000 every year. This time the internet list was dominated by online gambling sites. Half of the top 10 was taken by the likes of PartyGaming founders, Russell de Leon and Ruth Parasol, who were in second place with £700 mill.
Also PartyGaming put other two in the top 10, both shareholders, group operations director Anurag Dikshit was third with £559m and marketing director Vikrant Bhargava was 9th with £230m.
Coming 6th on the list were Bet365 founders Peter and Denise Coates with £400m. Betfair placed three executives on the top 20, places 11th, 12th and 17th were for Ed Wraym Andrew Black and Richard Koch respectively.
This year the overall list was hit hard by the recession but apparently, online gambling is coming through the recession relatively fine. The richest person in Britain is still the steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, though he's been bitten by the recession especially hard. His wealth is over £10 billion - down by approximately £17 billion from last year!
