World Champion Peter Eastgate and Tom Dwan took the centre stage in the first two episodes of the new season of High Stakes Poker. Many have said that Eastgate was outplayed by the aggressive Dwan, but he doesn't share that view.

"I was just as aggressive as him, but because of the editing it seems like I was much tighter," he says to Pokerlistings.se.

In the first big pot between these two, both players had trips on a board of 653 6 K and durrrr looked shocked when he realised that Eastgate had just called him down with a better hand (A6 vs 76). The pot was $175,000 after Eastgate called durrrr's river bet of $53,500.

"He showed a lot of strength," Eastgate defends himself. "If I raise with that hand, I'd rather raise the turn than river. I'm happy with the way I played that hand."

In the most talked about hand Dwan made both Eastgate and Barry Greenstein fold better hands with his strong play. You can watch the hand here.

"I thought he probably had something like A2," Eastgate says. "I didn't like my trips after he bet so strong on the turn. I think I made the correct laydown in that situation. My mistake was not betting the turn."

"Dwan is one of the best, maybe the best," Eastgate comments. "But he wasn't as aggressive as it looks on TV, it was just the way it was edited."

"All of them are great players and great characters," he says of his opponents. "It was a fantastic experience for me."

The fourth episode of High Stakes Poker comes out today. At the end of the previous episode commentator AJ Benza said of this week's show, "Ilari Sahamies begins to make his presence felt," so hopefully we will more of Ziigmund this time around!
