Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies is in a downswing and it just won't turn around as it seems. Yesterday he piled up his losses by dropping another $201,000 on Full Tilt Poker.

"It might be my longest downswing I have ever had.." Ilari wrote on his Coinflip blog a couple of days ago. Yesterday it was more of the same. Ilari played several sessions of 200/400 6-max or HU PLO and finished $201,000 in the red according to Highstakesdb.com.

While Ilari has been losing, his old friend Gus Hansen has been winning. This time the Dane took down $305,000, some of it coming from Ilari.

As we told earlier, the Finnish tax records in 2009 were made public this week and the news media in the Nordic country have widely noted Ilari's top ten placing in the earned income bracket with €1.7 million in taxable earned income. Ironically, his worst downswing coincides with these news and sure enough the Finnish tabloids are now making the most of it, one of them screaming on their front page yesterday:

FROM TOP INCOME TO TOP LOSSES - POKER PRO LOSES HIS HUGE WINNINGS!

Enough said... (Luckily, the story inside is ok and pretty accurate, not at all sensationalist like the headline.)
