One of the oldest poker information sites, Pokerpages.com was supposed to cease functioning by the end of October. However, the site has stayed online and been updated after that date, and rumors about a possible buyer have been circulating in the poker world. Now Pokerati.com says they have heard from a reliable source that the new owner is none other than PokerStars.

Apart from their well known brand, Pokerpages.com is valuable for their extensive tournament database reaching as far back as 1970 and the start of tournament poker. It's easy to imagine why PokerStars would be interested in acquiring this site, but time will tell how they intend to utilise their new acquisition.

Pokerpages.com was founded way back in the 90's and at their height they were the most popular poker news and data site. The site went downhill after a change in management and it came as no surprise when they announced they were shutting up shop in October.
